Saudia Group Director General Engr. Ibrahim AlOmar has met a delegation from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to discuss potential areas of cooperation and developments in the aviation sector.
The meeting was held in coordination with the Saudi-Pakistani Joint Business Council, chaired by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud.
The talks covered aviation-related opportunities as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its role as a global hub for air travel and logistics. The sides also discussed strategic projects and developments across the sector.
During their visit, the PIA delegation toured several Saudia Group subsidiaries. The visit gave the delegation an insight into the group’s maintenance and training operations, which are largely supported by Saudi professionals.
Saudia said these capabilities are helping build local expertise and improve the competitiveness of the country’s aviation industry. They also support the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The meeting comes as Saudia records strong operational performance. The airline was ranked the world’s best for on-time arrivals in July 2026, according to global aviation analytics firm Cirium.
Saudia recorded an on-time arrival rate of 87.24 percent across 16,406 flights during the month, placing it at the top of the global airline rankings.
The result was achieved during the busy summer travel season, when airlines faced higher passenger demand and added pressure on their operations.
Saudia credited the performance to coordination across its group, cooperation with aviation partners and airports, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The airline said these technologies are being used to improve operational planning, support faster decision-making and manage daily flight operations more efficiently.
