The Punjab government has introduced a new initiative, the Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026, to help university and college students gain easier access to personal transportation through affordable financing. Eligible students can obtain motorcycles by paying monthly instalments starting from around Rs2,000.
The scheme has been launched to support students enrolled in higher education institutions across the province. Motorcycles will be provided on easy instalment plans, reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
This initiative was announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, during a ceremony held to recognise academic excellence. She also unveiled several education-related reforms during the event, including the expansion of the School of Eminence programme, the establishment of new government schools, and the launch of AI laboratories in educational institutions across Punjab.
The government has arranged a repayment plan under which students will pay an advance payment of Rs. 15,000, followed by monthly instalments of approximately Rs. 2,000. The financing makes the scheme more accessible for students from different financial backgrounds.
