Pakistan cricket team captain and now national Test team coach, Sarfaraz Ahmed is in grief as his brother-in-law Amir Waheed Siddiqui has passed away, leaving behind a host of family members, friends, and the cricket fraternity to mourn his loss.
According to family sources, Amir Waheed Siddiqui passed away in Oman on Monday. There his funeral prayers were conducted and he was buried in a local cemetery.
The family members, relatives and close friends came together to pray for forgiveness, eternal peace and to seek his elevation in the hereafter for him, as well as for them to have strength and patience in this hard time.
The deceased was the younger brother of Zia Siddiqui, an established name in the regional cricket circles of Karachi.

The Siddiqui family has a long association with the game of cricket and sports which has gained them the admiration and respect of players, officials and the local cricket community of Karachi.
Following Amir Waheed Siddiqui’s death, a flurry of condolences came in from people in the sports world, who have voiced their sympathy for the grieving family.
One of the most kindhearted, humble and dignified persons who maintained warm relations with all around, Amir Waheed Siddiqui was remembered by friends, relatives and cricket personalities.
They said that he was a kind and friendly person with a good personality and generosity that touched them.
A number of people stated that his loss will be felt by both his family and friends.
The sad news has brought sadness to the Siddiqui family and to the entire cricket fraternity of Karachi, which is closely associated with Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Sympathy and prayers have been pouring in from all over Pakistan.
