A woman was killed in a recent terrorist attack on a passenger vehicle in the Kalat district of Balochistan.
Armed men opened fire on a passenger vehicle in Manguchar, Khaliqabad, in Balochistan’s Kalat district, killing a woman and injuring two others, including a child.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred near Manguchar when terrorists, who were reportedly checking vehicles on the road, opened fire on a vehicle travelling from Zhob to Karachi.
The woman, who was reportedly travelling to Karachi for medical treatment, was killed in the attack. A child and another passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while security forces are gathering further details about the attackers and the motive behind the shooting.
Following the attack, security forces and law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area before launching a search operation to trace the attackers.
Security officials said all available resources were being used to apprehend those responsible, adding that efforts were under way to bring the perpetrators to justice.

CM Bugti leads talks as Balochistan govt, protest committee reach agreement
The Balochistan government and a protest committee representing the families of those killed in the Ziarat incident have reached a written agreement following negotiations led by Balochistan Chief Minister (CM), Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
According to the agreement, both sides pledged to work together to implement the demands of the victims’ families and take joint measures to promote peace and stability in the province.
The government also agreed to establish a judicial commission to investigate the Ziarat incident.
Under the agreement, a joint meeting chaired by the chief minister will be held with opposition parties and the families of the victims to discuss the province’s law and order situation.
The provincial government said it would strengthen the capacity, manpower and professional capabilities of the police force in urban areas of Balochistan.
Officials also announced that those killed in the Ziarat incident would be officially recognised as martyrs under the government’s existing policy. Their families will receive compensation, financial support and educational assistance for their children in accordance with the policy.
The agreement further states that a number of government buildings will be named after the victims in recognition of their sacrifice.
To address public concerns related to revenue matters, the government will establish a committee headed by the provincial revenue minister, comprising government officials and local community representatives.
Chief Minister Bugti said the families of those killed would receive every possible support from the provincial government.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), police and other law enforcement agencies, saying their contributions were valued by the nation.
