Facebook eases monetisation rules for THESE Pakistani creators

Social media platform Facebook has announced a major change to its monetisation policy that could help many new content creators in Pakistan earn money more easily, according to reports on Sunday.

The popular Meta social media platform has reduced some of its earlier requirements. It has now introduced a simpler way for creators to qualify for monetisation.

Under the new system, users who get 300,000 views on their Facebook pages within 28 days will be able to access Content Monetisation Tools. This feature will allow the creators to earn money in US dollars from videos, reels, and other content.

In the past, Facebook had much stricter conditions. Creators needed at least 10,000 followers, 600,000 minutes of watch time, and several uploaded videos before they could qualify. Many smaller creators found it difficult to meet these requirements.

Experts say the new policy could create more earning opportunities for growing creators and encourage more people to become part of the digital economy.

They also said that users must continue following Facebook’s community guidelines and platform rules to stay eligible.

According to reports, the feature is currently available to a small number of users. Facebook plans to expand it to more accounts in the coming stages.

Facebook, WhatsApp set to get paid subscription plans

Previously, Meta has unveiled plans to launch paid subscription models on its three main platforms, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The update is signalling towards a major shift in its revenue stream from advertising.

Meta’s Head of Product, Naomi Gleit, announced that Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus will be available around the world.

The new subscription tiers are intended to offer users more features, more tools, and more capabilities in the Meta apps and Meta AI-powered products.

While Facebook and Instagram Plus are not officially announced, early indications are that they will cost about $3.99 a month, and WhatsApp Plus will cost $2.99 per month.
