The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased once again on Friday. This price increase will be applicable for the next 24 hours, according to the notification.
The government has increased petroleum prices once again. According to the latest notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs4.80 per litre. The new price is Rs383.46 per litre.
The price of petrol has also been increased by Rs3.66 per litre. The new price is Rs335.18 per litre. Since the daily fuel pricing system started, fuel prices have changed several times.
On July 18, petrol became Rs5.44 per litre more expensive, while diesel increased by Rs31.05 per litre. On July 21, petrol became 35 paisas cheaper, but diesel increased by Rs5.71 per litre.
On July 22, petrol increased by Rs4.93 per litre and diesel by Rs7.15 per litre. On July 23, petrol became Rs6.39 per litre more expensive, while diesel increased by Rs7.83 per litre.
On July 24, petrol prices increased by Rs4.40 per litre and diesel prices by Rs3.62 per litre.
With the latest increase, petrol now costs Rs335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs383.46 per litre.
Is Pakistan ending daily petrol price changes?
The federal government may suspend the daily petroleum price adjustment system after reaching an agreement with fuel dealers, according to some reports.
The dealers have also called off their planned nationwide strike after receiving assurances from the government.
According to the Petroleum Dealers Association, the government has agreed to review the system of changing petrol and diesel prices every day.
It also said that a report on petrol dealers’ profit margins will be prepared within 15 days.
Petroleum Dealers Association President Humayun Khan announced on Friday that the strike had been cancelled. He said the decision was made after the government agreed to consider the dealers’ demands.
After the agreement, petrol pumps across the country continued normal operations. Earlier, the association had warned of a 15 day nationwide strike against the daily fuel pricing system.
