The Punjab Excise Department and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have started online registration for the auction of attractive vehicle registration numbers or number plates.
How to register for these number plates?
To register for the Punjab attractive vehicle registration number auction, you can complete the process online through the official PITB e-Auction Portal or the mobile app.
The auction for these number plates is being conducted through the e-Auction App and Web Portal.
The platform was developed by the PITB in collaboration with the Punjab Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department.
What do you need to register?
Before registering, make sure you have the following things:
- CNIC number
- Active mobile number
- Valid email address
- Vehicle details, including the chassis number if the vehicle is new and unregistered
What kind of vehicles are included?
The auction includes registration numbers for motorcycles, motorcars and commercial vehicles.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the platform allows citizens to take part in the auction from their homes.
He said that the digital system makes the process easier, secure and transparent.
How to see results?
Details of successful bidders will also be available on the e-Auction App. You can easily see the status of the number plates there once it has been announced.

People interested in buying a number can register online until September 30.
The e-auction app will allow people to take part in the auction for registration numbers of motorcycles, cars and commercial vehicles.
KP govt introduces new number plates
Recently, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government introduced new number plates for government and private vehicles.
The KP government decided to replace the number plates of all vehicles across the province with new RFID-enabled plates.
According to the Excise Department, the new plates will feature radio-frequency identification (RFID) stickers. This will allow the authorities to identify and track vehicles more efficiently.
Officials said the existing number plates are issued for Rs1,200, while the new RFID-enabled plates will cost Rs4,000.
The technology is expected to improve vehicle records, help identify stolen or suspicious vehicles and strengthen traffic management.
